Vendor Biography
Hello and welcome! We are Landon, Shanae, Vashti, and Ezra. We are an Anabaptist family that lives in Monmouth, Oregon. We are both coffee enthusiasts (we have 7 different brew methods in our house) and decided to take a leap of faith into the coffee roasting world. Neither of us had any coffee roasting experience prior to 2022 but you never know until you try! We started roasting on a Coffee Crafters Artisan 3e Fluid bed roaster. This roaster allows us to roast small batches to ensure a fresh and consistent roast.
Why the name Aslan? Why Rev 5:5? Aslan is a lion who represents God in the novel The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis and Rev 5:5 is one of our favorite verses. John is on the island of Patmos and he is being given the vision of the end times. At this point he is weeping because no one is found worthy to open the scroll and break the seals, when one of the elders says to him (here’s our verse, paraphrased) “WEEP NOT. Behold the LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH has PREVAILED! He can open the scroll.” Truly Jesus is WORTHY and the HOPE for all of us.
