Faith Schmidt designs under the name DistractedKnits for a very good reason. With nine children, some grown and some still at home, there’s always something going on! This has led her to design patterns that are interesting to knit but are also easy to memorize and “read”, in the case of one of those all-to-frequent interruptions.
Materials
Needles: US 3: 16” or 24” circular needle. US 5 (You will need two for knitting in the round): 16” or 24” circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge. Extra needle for 3 needle bind off (optional)
Yarn: Knit Picks Comfy Fingering(75% Pima Cotton/25% Acrylic, 50 grams, 218 yards): 2 skeins(Parchment, Color A), 1 skein(Marlin, Color B)
Stitch Markers: 1
Stitch holder or scrap yarn
Gauge: 22 sts to 4 inches in garter stitch and smaller needles. Gauge is not terribly important to this project. Use needles that will give you a firm fabric.
Finished Size: 15.25” tall x 11.25” wide, laid flat including the handle.
